Autark [aʊ̯ˈtaʁk], German, translation: ‘independent’, ‘self-sufficient’
The very first HORAGE watch to feature our own mechanical engine.
The name is German and translates as independent or self-sufficient. The Autark is the very first HORAGE timepiece to house our very own mechanical movement, K1. Autark is a testament to the road less travelled and honours our engineering team, who designed, developed, tested and ultimately built the movement independently from the big watch manufacturers; a feat not to be taken lightly in the world of precision Swiss watchmaking.
Autark is finished with a brushed 39mm titanium alloy for the case, bracelet and patent pending single-fold buckle. Two dial choices are available, those being unidirectional carbon (black) or rhodium plated alloy (white).
Unidirectional carbon is twice as strong as woven carbon and it lays perfectly flat and will not flex when force is applied to it, this makes it both optically and structurally a unique choice for watch dials. Rhodium on the other hand is one of the world’s rarest precious metals over and above that of gold and silver. Found in platinum, rhodium is therefore bright, clean and corrosion resistant.
