Last week we were finally able to case the last sample movement. This meant we could get on with photographing all 5 samples that will be made available.
In previous posts and images shared it has been difficult for everyone to get a true understanding of the colours of each of the movements. This was due to us simply photographing under less than ideal lighting conditions as well with a mix of mobile and dslr cameras.
The images below are all representative of the true watch colours and my hope is they will help you to decide upon which colour watch you like best.
Here is the dark grey dial with black structured leather and white stitched strap.

The silver movement is a brighter choice over grey and looks amazing paired with the British racing green leather strap.

The blue is something very special and an instant eye catcher. Here we have paired it with a white leather strap that both men and women alike are gravitating towards.

The gold exudes a classic feel, but still retains a modern look. The strap utilized in the photo shooting will not be available as it simply did not meet our performance requirements. On February 29th the configurator will have all available strap options for you to mix and match from.

The fifth version of the watch has a movement that consists of two colours. Grey is placed on the dial and blue on the backside of the movement. This combinations allows for hints of blue to come through the skeletonized movement and that blue is further complimented by the matching hands. In addition a vegan friendly blue strap has been added.

Currently we are working on our configurator for the pre-order starting February 29th.
The configurator will enable you to select your desired case material, case finish, movement colour and straps of choice.
As always we look forward to your comments and questions.
Till next time…
Landon Stirling
Wow wow wow!
So beautiful pictures!
Thank you for the sharing!
Thank you @Minson Peng I have some more photos still to share, but for now this will be a good start. Also I hope you can still make it to the event as it would be great to meet with you. Thanks again!
Amazing project. Is this manually wound or automatic? Also, the is the brand Horage engraved on the glass?
Many thanks, it is great to hear! The watch is manually wound and has a 72 hour run time. The Horage logo is printed on the underside of the sapphire crystal. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thank you 😊
Hi Lester, we will be in Singapore from 26.Feb. to 1. March, you may like to have a drink with us so we can show you the 5 Tourbillon watches ;)
Great .
Very striking, especially in blue. Wish I had a chance to see them in person, but a flight to Singapore or Switzerland is sadly not in the cards for me this month.
We will also plan on Germany, UK and the USA. Let us know if any of those work and we can send more details your way.
@landonstirling Unfortunately not before the 29th, as I'm going for a surgery next week that will have me out of action for a while. This is one of very few watches over $5k that I have ever considered buying sight-unseen, but realistically I will most likely sit out the pre-order and initial launch and consider it instead if/when it becomes a standard production model.
I'm happy and excited for those who do have a chance to see these in person and will be in on the first orders. It looks to be an unparalleled value as well as being a very attractive and interesting watch.
@watchcrank_tx I hope the surgery goes well and that you make a strong recovery. The VIP pre-order will run from Feb 29th - April 1st 2020. Then we will do a public pre-order again in June. As a heads up we will not be carrying this as a standard production model as we are only doing one production run based on pre-orders. Therefore it will be a very special piece in the history of Horage.
Seriously considering buying one. Too bad the event in Hong Kong is cancelled :-( Really want to see it in person and try it on before the pre-order.
We hope to be back in Hong Kong and will keep you posted when we return. It will be very nice to finally meet you.
@landonstirling these are beautiful, is there a price listed somewhere for these? Also how do I sign up for email to hear more?
Hi Jayson, thank you for reaching out! The price for the pre-order starting Feb 29th is 6,990CHF (excluding tax). You can sign up for the email notification by clicking on "log in" in the top right of the page. You will then be added to our email newsletter. You can read more about all the options to come and pricing in this forum post. https://www.horage.info/forum/k-tou-english/the-impossible-made-possible
will the price be higher in the production run?
Initially we had communicated that the price would remain the same for the second pre-order in June, but due to the razor thin margin and some unforeseen costs we will keep the first VIP pre-order at 6,990 and the second pre-order in June the price will be 7,490CHF. We will only be doing one production run and will not produce any for stock in future times. Therefore this is a one off production and when they are gone they are gone.
Wow, absolutely beautiful. Masterpiece of engineering. Thanks for sharing.
More still to share! Thanks Gary! I hope all is well on the high seas.
@landonstirling So will “Horage Apogee” be the watch’s name?? 😉
The Apogee name is simply a name I had come up with a as place holder for the samples. We are still waiting on more to come in as this is a rare piece of watch history that we are making. Will keep you posted and will see you in about 10 days time
If possible, I'd like to see close-ups of the same model(s) in the two metal cases. Or will this be clarified in the configurator?
'...Financing of a non-refundable half payment during the VIP Bird with the remaining payment due in September will also be made available...'
Does this mean Horage will finance, on request, the first half payment over a 6-month period? If so, what is the rate? Paypal is accepted on the website, may I assume it will be accepted for this purchase?
In the two colour version, is the blue back material the same as the all blue pvd version?
How long is warranty? When does it start, upon payment or delivery?
It may have been brought up before(???) but are there plans for a bracelet(s)?
Are the straps other than leather?
Apologies if I maybe misunderstanding your request. As I understand would like to see each movement colour represented in the brushed and polished titanium and the brushed and polished stainless steel, correct? Please keep in mind we only have the 5 samples on the site and are unable to remove and reshoot each colour in each case style. We will have a reference to each case for you to choose from.
Possibly financing was the wrong terminology as we are not offering/charging any rate of finance. We are simply saying you can pay 50% of the watches value in the first pre-order and pay the remaining amount in September.
Correct that the blue back colour is the same as the blue pvd. This was an additional product that we added, with matching blue hands. This combination still requires the blue to go through the pvd process so we will have a reduced upgrade cost in comparison to the all blue movement.
There are no plans for bracelets with the tourbillon. At this price it simply would not be possible to make one for the watch. We will however have a mix of leather and non-leather straps. We will be posting the options later on.
I hope that answered everything for you. If not feel free to reach out anytime. Its great diving into the details.
Thank you
@landonstirling Thanks for responding. It clarifies things. How does the numbering work? Is it a number for each watch, or a number within a model series in the pre-order period?
@landonstirling how is the pre-order going? Unless I’ve missed a new thread somewhere there‘s not been much chatter! I’m sure your travel plans have been curtailed, how about doing a live webcast for Q&A sometime before end of June?
Above you still mention steel AND titanium options, but haven’t you now dropped Ti? I’m sure an earlier thread suggested Ti rigidity was somehow needed for COSC precision. Can you remind us what the final decision was and why — and if we go for COSC will performance be in anyway affected? I may just be misremembering...
Any more thoughts on the “non-leather strap” options? Why did you drop the natural rubber inner strap concept you tempted us with in the very early posts, the ones with black rubber edging. These gave a more technical and balanced look to the case-watch combo. Did this just work out too expensive?
Yes please, an east coast U.S. showing!!
We are trying to set up a date in Washington DC at the moment. Will keep you posted.
@landonstirling Washington, DC, for me, is like going from Copenhagen, Denmark to Geneva, Switzerland for those across the pond. Chicago is still far, but doable. .
Still pushing for Tourage as the final name...
any details on German dates?
Tim.
Thats what we like to hear. The naming is still in progress. We will have a Berlin event around the 30th of April and will share details of that soon. As well we are looking into an event in Munich. Will either of those work for you?
Munich would be easier for me...
Would it be possible to share the lug-to-lug measurement? As I have a relatively small 6.25" wrist. Thanks
41mm (top ring) and 39mm (case Body) Diameter , Thickness 11,8mm (with curved Glas) 10,8mm (Gase part only), Lug-to-Lug 42,3mm (Pin-middle )
The picture of Marcella wear k-tou, her wrist is very small around 15.5 mm
Could we see pictures of Marcella wearing each of the watches with that same photo angle? Frankly that might be more helpful than Landonsterling's opening photos. I'm having difficulty with Grey vs. Silver. Really hope I can see them in the flesh. May we reserve initially with a reserved serial # but an open color pending seeing them?
I will work on your request of having them all on Marcellas wrist. It might take a few weeks as we are all in different parts of the world at the moment. Our configurator will be set up to select case number and colour a the same time. We can see what we can do to meet your request when you are ready to place your order.
Is there a reason the hour markers appear rather light on the gray face? Is this just a quirk of photography? I think they should be bright black or blue to be clearly visible. The silver makes the markers appear darker. Assuming they are the same, I think the grey hour markers need more darkening or a brighter color - perhaps the raspberry of the jewels?
Please see my reply below. Thank you 😊 🙏
It can be the way the light is hitting it. We have many more photos to share that will be included in the gallery of the sight. Possibly the attached shows the greyness of the hands better. Those hand colour suggestions would all look very cool and the options could be endless. The hands as they appear on all the watches are finalized now.
.
I did not mean to confuse: it is the hour markers that are too light (apparently) while the hands appear fine.
It could just be the reflection of the light, however the watch comes across as being very well balanced. The hour markers in the above image are actually black with recessed luminous. Will you have a chance to join one of our live events to view in person?
If it's in the U.S. (east coast).
Thats where we hope to be.
Is that a stainless or titanium case for the dark grey dial on the picture shown above?
Perhaps a stupid question but is there lume on the hands and, if so, what type?
Yes there is luminous on the hands. Super luminova A grade white. On the dial ring we use super luminova A grade solid blocks in 2 layers and allow to have 2 different colour of 2 layers from a special supplier. This is a very special technique know from Moser and also used by IWC, Rolex.etc.
